Babies, Baptisms, Birthdays and Booze (Yes, I will now attempt to tie all of these together)

I'm never drinking again. Ever.

Ha, okay fine. You know me too well. I will at least be waiting until Wednesday. Wait. Tomorrow's already Tuesday? Well then this should be easy. : )

Tonight Mason and I are in recovery after a long and eventful Labor Day weekend. Let's start from the beginning...

Friday night, we headed South on 45 towards H-town after work. We are quite the little road-trippers. We are driving to some city in or around Texas nearly every other weekend. Usually to Houston since 99.5% of our friends live there and some MAJOR life event is always going on....(weddings, baby showers, half-birthdays, etc)! Eventually we will just need to move ourselves down there to save on gas - but I digress. This weekend we were not lacking in occasions to celebrate.

The main purpose for our trip was to attend the baptism for my friend Caroline's baby Scarlett, because....

I was asked to be her GODMOTHER!!!! :) So very exciting!

I'm looking forward to watching Miss Scarlett Elizabeth grow-up and love that it also means that my friendship with Caroline and her husband Trey will be a life long bond. Yep, they're stuck with me for life - I've got the Godparent certificate to prove it!
Here is my pretty god-daughter modeling the necklace I gifted her before the baptism.

This weekend also highlighted the fact that I am a complete sap. There were six families having their children baptized on Sunday and ALL of the parents and Godparents kept it together while MY Maybelline attempted to slide down my cheeks. I was doing anything to prevent breaking into the ugly cry. It wasn't a total make-up melt-down though so no worries!

So you may be wondering what the cause of today's massive hangover was if most of the weekend was spent doing church activities...

NO, I wasn't binge drinking at the baptism if that's where you think this is going.

The other cause for celebration this weekend was Mason's Mom and Dad's birthdays! They had a big back-yard fish fry bash! And apparently I felt it my duty as new daughter-in-law to taste test every concoction crafted. Including pickle juice and vodka shots. Blah - just writing that makes me want to throw up.
I was happy to oblige however and I think it was a birthday party to remember...or forget, depending on how much longer this hangover lasts!
So all in all, after a LLLLOOOONNNGGGGG first week of school  - a long weekend in Houston with friends and family was just what we needed to kick-off the fall season. Hope your Labor Day was not too laborous! *Laborous is apparently not a real world says "Blogger", but I'm in no mood to find another adjective to take it's place! Word.

Let's Get This Party Started!!!

Welcome to the Guinn family blog! OMG, so weird. I am part of a family! Craziness! Well I guess I've always technically had a family, I mean I wasn't raised by wolves.... but this is a new family... of my own choosing! And I chose this guy! Meet Mason.
We got married on June 30, 2012 on a perfect day, in a perfect city, with surprisingly perfect weather! Perfect perfectness!
Stop barfing, this is my blog and I'll brag if I want to! ;)

So yeah... a "new family" means time for a new blog. You may know me best from my work on the blog "Pink Champagne". You know... that fabulous, world-renowned website that you kept bookmarked in your favorites. Yes that one!

Well as they say, all good things must come to an end... and since my posting was severely lacking on that blog, I decided to start fresh with new fabulousness. Seems easy right. Just pick out a new domain name and bada bing bada boom - a new blog and you're in business. Sure. Trying to come up with words starting with a "G" to go with my new moniker "Guinn" became quite the task, however. Here are just a few ideas that Mason contributed...

"Geronomo-ing With the Guinns"

"Getting Gassy With the Guinns"

"Gangbanging With the Guinns"

"It Ain't Nothing But a G Thing"

"Getting Guinny With It"

His career in social media is officially over. You're welcome.

So maybe our title isn't the most original, but it's a work in progress and this is MY blog really, because let's be honest... Mason only reads these things if I pout and say "You don't even care about me DOOOOOO YOUUUUUUU???" So um yeah. Enough said.

Okay, so expect to hear a lot about us and our adventures misadventures in marriage! I promise to try my best to keep it entertaining! Shouldn't be too hard. I seem to always have plenty of material. ;) But alas, thank you in advance for joining us in on our journey as husband and wife!

XOXO,

The Guinns
